WHY MEDITATE
Primarily, to discover who you are beyond your lest excited state, beyond all the stress and conditioning that has accumulated during one’s life. To experience less stress and more joy.
Our ‘fight or flight’ response is continually activated in this demanding busy world. Vedic Meditation is a technique that will not only help to clear the residual stress and anxiety we have become accustomed to living with, but also restore the nervous system and manage the way we react to everyday challenges with greater ease.
Meditating promotes a deep state of rest, which allows the mind to function with more clarity. Over time, your state of awareness will become heightened, and you will feel an expansion of happiness that will overflow into your day-to-day life experience. As a result of these internal shifts, your perspective changes, you become less reactive, more resilient, and your relationships and overall health and wellbeing improve.
Vedic Meditation does not require you to switch off or stop the internal chatter of the mind. Practised twice a day for twenty minutes, it is an easy, effortless technique that is a joy to practice. Using your own personal mantra, Vedic Meditation allows you to move effortlessly between your mantra and stages of thought, through to inner contented bliss. This allows for all accumulated stress within the body to dissolve.
This ancient and profound technique is derived from a tradition that has been passed down by a linage of master teachers dating back 5,000 years. Originating in India, this non-religious practice arrived in the West during the 50's by a well-known great master named Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, an enlightened Sage and Scientist with a Master’s Degree in Physics.
I believe Vedic Meditation is one of the most powerful gifts you can learn to improve your overall well-being and is suitable for anyone who desires their fullest potential from life. As a result of a commitment to Vedic Meditation, you might feel:
Less reactive & less stress, increased flexibility, focus, awareness, stability, resilience, energy, creativity, optimism, rest and repair to the mind / body, immune system health improvement, connection to self, enhanced intuition, sense of calm, more ethical in thinking and behaviour, improved relationships.
